Our story

The race that
came back.

The Gorseinon 10K has been part of the local running story for decades. Believed to have first taken place in the mid-1980s, the race ran until approximately the early 2000s before disappearing from the calendar for around 20 years. In 2023, it returned to the streets of Gorseinon, bringing back a race with real local history — and giving a new generation the chance to be part of it.

“We’re incredibly proud to have brought the Gorseinon 10K back and to continue building on what has always been a fantastic event for our community. It’s about bringing people together, creating a race the area can be proud of and, importantly, using it as an opportunity to raise vital funds for Morgan’s Army and other good causes.”

Natalie Ridler, Founder, Morgan's Army Charitable Foundation

Race day is more than a race. Gorseinon Town Council and Penyrheol Leisure Centre host a community fun day alongside it, with live music, food stalls and rides.

Every entry
goes somewhere

The Gorseinon 10K is operated on a not-for-profit basis, with funds raised through the event shared between Morgan's Army Charitable Foundation and a local charitable cause chosen by our community.

50%

50%

Is donated to our chosen local charity partner, allowing the success of the race to reach even further into our Welsh community.

Our 2027 Charity Partner

Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity, the official charity of the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales, has been voted our charity partner for the 2027 Gorseinon 10K.

Through our partnership with Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity, funding from the race helps support play therapy, hospital equipment and emotional support for children receiving care at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales.

For Morgan's Army, this partnership is particularly special.

Our work is closely connected with the children's hospital in Cardiff and the families cared for there. We regularly support children and young people receiving oncology care and have also provided funding towards equipment, facilities and projects benefiting the hospital's oncology services.

We know first-hand how important it is for families to have exceptional care, facilities and support around them when their child is seriously ill.

By working alongside Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity through the Gorseinon 10K, we can make the impact of our community's fundraising go even further. Every entry, every sponsor, every volunteer and every person who supports the Gorseinon 10K contributes to something bigger.
